Supporting Children’s Independence

For children and teens, everyday activities like getting dressed, writing at school, or joining in play can sometimes feel harder than they should. These challenges can affect confidence, friendships, and participation at home or in the classroom.

At Stacey Baboulas & Associates, we bring occupational therapy directly to your home, school, or community setting, where children learn best. Our mobile approach makes therapy accessible and relevant to each child’s real-world routines. Families value the collaborative, practical, and child-centered support that helps children develop confidence and independence in everyday life. Our goal is to help each child build the skills they need for independence, success, and joy in daily life.

Areas of focus may include:

  • Fine and gross motor skill development

  • Sensory processing and self-regulation

  • Activities of daily living (e.g., dressing, feeding, hygiene)

  • School readiness and transitions

  • Attention, organization, and executive functioning

  • Play and social participation

Each service begins with a collaborative assessment to understand the child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. Recommendations and intervention plans are individualized, evidence-informed, and developed in partnership with families and caregivers to promote independence and participation in everyday life.
